Please be on the look out for a scam letter that is doing the rounds at the moment. The letter prompts the business owner to renew their business name through a BNrenewal website. The ASIC have confirmed that this correspondence is not from them. The ASIC will send the business name holder a reminder notice by email 30 days before the renewal is due. From 26 February 2018, the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) will join the ATO online services and will no longer be accessible with the current user ID and password authentication.
If you currently use the SBSCH, the new online process will be the same great service, just with a new look.
You can access the new SBSCH online services via the business portal using Manage ABN Connections through your myGov account or via an AUSkey.

Prior to Christmas, legislation was passed that effectively introduced a new category of superannuation contribution – the downsizer superannuation contribution (DSC). The DSC is designed to encourage older Australians to vacate larger properties for smaller, easier to maintain homes while taking advantage of the opportunity to contribute more to their superannuation funds.
The DSC will not count towards contributions caps or be affected by the total superannuation balance
